Hey. A week ago, I realised how awesome Diablo looked and went hype mode about it. However, I haven't participated in the beta, and there are some questions I haven't got answered through Youtube/wikipedia;
1. You have about 20 abilities per class, but only 5-7 ability slots on the screen? How does this work?
2. How do you target with your abilities? Hold the mouse over your target? Use the WASD keys? Select a target and auto-hit?
3. Is there any autoattack?
4. If I've never played Diablo before, will the lore be all odd or is it more of a standalone game in terms of lore? I mean, will I be completely confused?
Thats all I had on my mind, cheers for any answers
1. As you level up you unlock skills, and modifications to those skills called runes. You can only have one version of a skill at a time, and you can at most have 6 active skills and 3 passive skills at one time.
2. You hover your mouse over the target and press your hotkey for the specific ability.
3. No. You need to click to attack. Which is where the stories of worn-out mice come from.
4. Having played the previous games will be a bonus in terms of understanding the lore, but nowhere near necessary as far as I can tell. It's definitely a standalone game. Important prior events will be recapped ingame when they become relevant as far as I know.
I hope you decide to get it. I played the beta, and that got me hyped beyond belief.
